Where to Stay in Itacaré? Best Areas

When it comes to choosing where to stay in Itacaré, a few areas really stand out. One of the most popular options is staying in the town center. There, you’ll be close to restaurants, small shops, and the area’s lively nightlife.

However, if you’re looking to relax surrounded by nature, beaches like Itacarezinho and Jeribucaçu are excellent choices. Below, I’ll go into more detail about each of the best areas to stay in Itacaré, along with some hotel and guesthouse recommendations that offer good value for money.

Downtown (Centro) and Pituba

If you want to stay right in the middle of the action and in the heart of Itacaré, downtown (Centro, in Portuguese) and the famous Pituba Street (Rua Pituba) are your best bets. There you’ll find countless bars and restaurants with live music, small grocery stores, charming artisan shops, and all kinds of services — plus plenty of fun.

And the best part is that you’ll be just a short walk from the urban beaches, like Praia da Concha and Praia da Coroa. Pituba is the main hangout spot for travelers, and it ended up being my favorite too. I loved having everything so close by.

A great place to stay in this area is Pousada Pura Vida, which offers good value for money and an excellent location. One of its highlights is the breakfast, already included in the rate — guests say it’s tasty and very diverse.

Another good option is Residencial dos Ipês, a cozy, quiet, family-run guesthouse located in Pituba. It offers several room options, from budget double rooms to fully equipped apartments.

For travelers looking for more affordable accommodation in Itacaré, there are also good hostels in downtown and Pituba. One of the best is Che Lagarto Itacaré, very well located on the main street, with both shared and private rooms. Another solid choice is Rudá Hostel, about 1 km from the bus station.

Praia da Concha

Praia da Concha is one of the most popular beaches in Itacaré and also one of the few with calm waters. It’s very close to downtown and perfect for relaxing, soaking up the sun, and taking a refreshing swim.

Along the beach, you’ll find several kiosks and beach bars serving drinks and snacks. I’ll admit this beach was my daily hangout. It’s a fantastic place to spend the day.

Right on Praia da Concha, you’ll find Aldeia do Mar Hotel, which offers chalets and suites with balconies. I recommend it if you don’t want to give up a bit of comfort and luxury. The hotel serves a large breakfast buffet and has a beachfront restaurant.

With more affordable private rooms, Villa Estrela Bungalow is also very close to Praia da Concha. They offer double rooms, bungalows, and country-style houses. Another well-rated option just steps from the beach is Pousada Villa N’kara.

For backpackers, Mais Que Nada Itacaré – Hostel, Bar & Breakfast is a great option for where to stay in Itacaré near Praia da Concha. It’s only 250 meters from the beach and has a lively restaurant and bar — perfect for meeting other travelers and enjoying the vibe.

Praia da Coroa

Praia da Coroa is the central beach and the busiest waterfront area in Itacaré. Even though it’s not ideal for swimming, it’s an awesome spot to enjoy the late afternoon. You’ll see small fishing boats anchored along the shore, historic houses, people playing sports on the sand, and plenty of bars and kiosks. At night, the promenade usually gets pretty lively.

There are some good places to stay around here, like Loft Sol Nascente, which has an excellent location and offers great value for money.

It’s also worth checking out Tropicália Pousada Hostel, which offers both shared and private rooms in a super charming setting, just steps from the waterfront.

Praia do Resende & Praia do Tiririca

Another great tip for where to stay in Itacaré is near Praia do Resende and Praia da Tiririca. These two beaches sit side by side and are especially popular with surfers thanks to their consistent, well-formed waves. This area is also close to Praia da Costa and Praia da Ribeira.

Surrounded by palm trees and with beautiful blue water, these beaches are perfect for travelers who want to be close to nature while still within reach of the town’s buzz, about 2 km from the center.

Just 30 meters from Praia da Tiririca and with excellent reviews, Chalé na Praia da Tiririca offers deluxe rooms with ocean views.

For those looking for more budget-friendly accommodation, Jurema Hostel and Ooxe Hostel, both about 500 meters from Resende Beach, are well-rated options with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Praia de Itacarezinho & Jeribucaçu

So far, I’ve mentioned places close to downtown Itacaré, since the town is small and everything is relatively nearby. However, if you’re looking for a more nature-immersed experience, there are more secluded and remote beaches, such as Praia de Itacarezinho (16 km away) and Praia de Jeribucaçu (9 km away).

Both beaches are absolutely stunning and offer a peaceful, well-preserved environment — perfect for travelers who want to disconnect and fully enjoy nature. However, since they’re located in protected areas and have fewer accommodation options, prices in this region tend to be higher.

In Itacarezinho, accommodation options are limited. The main one is Txai Resort, a large and luxurious resort that’s ideal if you have a flexible budget.

In Jeribucaçu, you’ll find nice places like Vila Piê, which offers fully equipped chalets and a peaceful atmosphere in the middle of nature. Rated as exceptional by guests on Booking, it’s located just 2 km from the trail that leads to Jeribucaçu Beach.

There’s no shortage of things to do in Itacaré! Beyond its paradise-like beaches, the destination also offers waterfalls, hiking trails through the Atlantic Forest, breathtaking sunsets, and perfect waves for surfers. And if you still have energy left, you can enjoy the city’s lively nightlife, with bars, restaurants, live music, and small parties.

How Many Days to Stay in Itacaré?

To really enjoy everything Itacaré has to offer, it’s a good idea to stay at least 4 or 5 days. That way, you’ll have time to enjoy the beaches, go hiking, try water sports, and still experience the vibrant nightlife. When Is The Best Time To Visit Itacaré?

Itacaré has pleasant weather year-round, but the best time to visit is between December and March, during the Brazilian summer. Temperatures are higher during this period, usually ranging from 77°F to 90°F (25°C to 32°C), which is perfect for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities. Just keep in mind that, like most tourist destinations, school vacation periods tend to be more crowded (in Brazil, that’s December, January and July).
